I can imagine (at least if it's aiming to stay close to the book) it's a tough nut to crack commercially (mega spoilers for book inside)

There are R-rated gory deaths/body horror related to the insect kingdom and robots having its way with the characters.

 

Relatedly, about mid-way through the book the lead "hero" is killed off.
