I thought your point was the film being a catalyst for violence. Any movie "could" be a catalyst and most are not. The Dark Knight Rises
incident was not about the Joker although that is a misconception, for instance. Will Joker inspire someone to act out? It might...just as the Longest Yard may have inspired a football player to clothesline another player. I don't think the film is anymore powerful at doing this than any dark, brooding book...painting...tv show...I think a bigger danger is person to person relating such as a reporter or a teacher or a leader...a real person that is spouting inspirational dialogue towards violence or hate. This is not a propaganda film like Triumph of the Will and I think anyone would be hardpressed to try and use it that way.
