Fellow HSXers - If you're interested in keeping this game (and forum) going, please read this post...

Some sad news today about Antibody. While we appreciate everything he has done for the board, the fact of the matter is, there's a good chance the end is near for the game and this place as we know it.

I have taken proactive steps to inquire about buying HSX. I spoke with their ownership today.

There wasn't talk about completely shutting it down, but there definitely was talk about it being up for sale.

I have inquired with one other member here that is a value to the community. We're going to pitch some ideas and try to see if there is a way we can justify keeping this going.

In the following days I'm going to run a poll to see the interest level from members here on possibly crowdfunding some of this. Between the cost of the site, the continued hosting and even a part time developer/administrator, it will add up quick... for a site that likely doesn't create much revenue (if any).

That being said, I believe there are ways to improve upon this product and encourage more engagment all around, while keeping the community together.

For now, I'm looking for people who want to be a part of the charge to keep it going. I'm asking that those people who share a passion to put time and/or effort to join the coalition to please reach out and email me at lobogotti @ me.com

Please don't mistake me on asking anyone for money. The response to this message and a future survey I put up will help determine if this is worth trying to save. So, I ask you to think about how much you enjoy being here (and what it's worth to you). Do put some thought into if this site one day were to fade to black (and if you'd miss it... after 17 years, I certainly would). We can proactively avoid that if we start planning this out together.

Thank you for your responses, and of course please know this is a no pressure approach at a last chance attempt to gauge as much interest for the site as possible. Even if you don't reach out, simply replying to this post with positive replies (or willingness to donate) doesn't hurt either. The more members we know are here lurking, the better.
