Great points. I fully get what you're saying, and sadly agree.. But consider this also:
I've seen this industry downturns hit before.. The last one was broken by "Paranormal Activity" (the first one) which envigorate the industry to puruse more budget friendly concepts...
Yes, I have a huge fear of VOD also, have for years, but Studios make a lot more money in theaters and much more in mercandising by using film theater chains.
What is needed is the next big idea that can make the industry relevant again.
