Just back from LJULT sneak peek today
I had a movie agreement with a friend, she saw Iron Man 2 with me on Friday and today I saw Letters to Juliet with her.
No commercials before the movie and just 2 trailers, Twilight: Eclipse and Micmacs. Eclipse looks far better than New Moon (although the bar was set very low), way more action in just this trailer than the whole of New Moon. Micmacs looks bizarre, I think I'll see it.
The sneak was a bit odd, 3:00 in the afternoon and no advertising at all at the ticket purchasing area, was doubting the theater was showing it for a minute. The showing was about half full, 90% female and a surprising number of older women and couples. I think 50% full at a 3:00 showing at this theater is very good.
The movie is a pure romance movie, not a rom-com and was very good. The cast was all very good and Seyfried continues to impress me more every time I see her, she has several scenes where she has to be emotional and I could hear sniffles and see some people wiping their eyes. I'll admit I could feel myself welling up a bit in 1 or 2 spots. This is a very good date movie, if you have a romantic bone in your body you will almost certainly like it. Not my usual movie fare but I actually liked it a lot and will probably see it again.
