Trying to track down a movie?!

Hey guys, first off happy 4th of july, secondly, i'm trying to get some brownie points with my girlfriends parents and we were talking about a movie they saw back in the 70s or 80s i cant find it for the life of me, so i come to you guys for help. From the information ive gathered it was a movie about a this girl who brought this african tribe statue home left it on the table and it's neclace fell off, when the neclace did fall off the statue would come to life and possibly killed, anything from that. she says 70s or 80s. Hopefully you guys can help me out.
