Honestly, exhibitors can't complain about theatrical windows if they're going to make it impossible to see movies after opening weekend

Alto Knights opened in theaters (not on MAX) ten days ago and this past weekend, it was only playing once a day in theaters near me, not convenient times either. If someone wanted to see the movie but couldn't make time opening week, they're not given enough options to see it before it eventually ends up on Max... so who cares if WBD puts it on Max tomorrow or next week? Exhibitors are doing it to themselves. I still remember never seeing Ang Lee's Gemini Man because by the time I had a chance to see it (which wasn't that long after opening) it was gone from all NYC locations.
i dunno if not-NATO can put the exhibition window genie back in the bottle at this point, but they're saying mostly the right things uncle michelle Mar 31, 10:09
If they can convince NBC-Universal I will be really impressed, I suspect they might budge on the tentpoles, doubt on Focus titles, etc. {nm} notfabio Mar 31, 10:17

Exhibitors are shuttering a lot of theatres. In my county over the last 3 years we've lost between half and 2/3rds of the screens. DTravel Mar 31, 11:25
