I couldn't resist, and went back to watch it yet again in the theater. It's just so incredible, and even though it goes down a deep road to a very dark place, the mastery of the film demanded I go back again. I found it even more incredible this time. I'm awestruck by this film and what Miyazaki did. The guy had so much trust, such a fanbase, and huge stones to make this. And it paid off so handsomely. And there's so many technical achievements, between the stunning voice work, to the score (!), and so much more. Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's one of the greatest works I've seen in a theater that's come out within my movie going life.
Anyway: there was nothing at the front end, and so i waded through the post screening credits; and I did see a different name listed under dialogue translation. No mention from what I saw of Mr. Gaiman. And I did not see his name mentioned anywhere more prominently.
Cheers.
PS: You'd be happy to know: same as last time, the theater (The Irvine Spectrum) was about FULL. And this is a couple weeks into a reissue! The film OWNED the audience. Complete silence during so much of it; much of the dialogues and intense conversations had the audience in complete sway. A lovely screening; people filed out at the end like they'd just seen a ghost. Just crazy. GV.
