which despite opening to a jaw dropping $114.8 Million, only dropped -37.8% in it's 2nd weekend. Yes, it's rare for a movie to open huge with over $60 Mil and maintain such a low drop in it's 2nd weekend but then again everything about INCEPTION IS RARE.
Besides the movie had an almost 2.9 Multilplier last weekend despite the fact that midnight grosses were counted towards the friday gross. You take into account the exceptional WOM, all the buzz from twitter, facebook the extremely high rating in imdb this shouldn't come as too big of a surprise.
Inception's Monday - Thursday grosses performed so similarly to Nolan's last movie The Dark Knight heading into it's 3rd weekend. And it's Friday's take and jump from Thursday also find it performing similarly except that Inception is doing even stronger.
Dark Knight had a 51% jump on it's 3rd friday from thursday and did $12.8 Million for a 3rd weekend take of $42.7 Million (and it too was playing in IMAX and had a 3.3 Multiplier back in 2008)
Inception jumps 54% on it's 2nd friday from thursday and does $13.2 Million so why wouldn't it continue the trend it has shown for the past 5 days and head towards a weekend take of $42-$43 Million?
ERC: INCEPTION is #1 - $40 million, SALT #2 - $33 million, DESPICABLE ME #3 - $22 million {nm} Vashta Nerada Jul 24, 08:15

PRED3 64.4% Fully priced and depending on how many theaters it drops (lost 823 this weekend) a possible $1 short. Not really worth holding. {nm} Vashta Nerada Jul 24, 08:47
DESME 31.4%. This is easy money, there is no way it can delist below its current price $170.51. {nm} Vashta Nerada Jul 24, 08:51
With a $13.2 Million Friday take the weekend will be around $42 Million for Inception and Karthick24 Jul 24, 09:56
Until I see numbers for Saturday, I'll accept ERC's estimates, thank you very much. =) {nm} grammar Jul 24, 10:23
I hope you are right Mr. Nolan. {nm} Goines12 Jul 24, 10:47
You have really got a bee in your bonnet about INCPT. What difference does it make whether it makes 2 mil more than the estimate? Whoopee! {nm} goodvibe61 Jul 24, 10:49
The "Difference" won't seem like a big deal now my friend with good vibes Karthick24 Jul 24, 11:22

33 is a short, 36 is a long. I shorted, so I prefer to believe the 33 estimate {nm} NiteKraz Jul 24, 13:01
