I haven't seen it but I am expectin like it: I like Wright's stuff and the potential of the premise. But, I totally see why it failed...
- This is a fairly niche concept/style: It should never have been given the budget it was (reportedly $60m) because it was never going to hit the kind of numbers that justify it.
- Unless you are already familar with this material (I am not), the title is childish and puts people off. If I didn't rate the talent involved, it would take a lot for me to give this a second look.
- The early trailers were crap. I remember two separate occasions seeing the trailer in the cinema and the different people I was with noting how stupid and plain bad the film looked.
- Cear: Plenty has already been written about him, and I tend to agree. I think he's decent enough to watch but he's simply not a big draw on his own. It doesn't help that he's pretty much the same in every film he's in.
