and it's a shame that these rapper biopics are getting second tier treatment. I mean, can you imagine Scorsese in full Goddfellas/Casino mode doing a Biggie or Tupac film? Or, if for reasons of racial sensitivity you had to get a black director if they let the Hughes Brothers loose on this concept.
I swear, Hollywood doesn't get it. If they'd just make a high quality movie about Tupac or Biggie or even NWA or Public Enemy you could easily gross 150 domestic and sell 5 million copies of the soundtrack and have a best selling DVD/Blu-Ray with perennial sales. You could merchandise the bejesus out of the flick and pay for the entire production with ancillaries. Instead they give 30 million to some music video director, or an over the hill one hit wonder with an unspellable name. Ugh.
