NBC (and ABC anc CBS previously) try to make the prime time show "as if live" for those who only can watch
after work. Considering the opening and closing are not even competition, it not THAT urgent to be live.
Gymnastics will only be shown on NBC on delay. Atheletics and Swimming finals, likewise. It has been that way when the Olympics are ahead of us in Asia or Austalia, or behind us in Europe.
Just avoid sites that spoil the NBC prime time. It can be done.
