I'm just setting out why America doing nothing is not the best option, and what I see as a possible way forward. I'm not telling you

personally to do anything. You can do nothing, but America shouldn't be.

As for the pointlessness of posting, I realise that I'm not going to change any opinions about gun rights per se, but I do hope to change opinions such as "access to guns and gun deaths are unrelated", or "it's too hard for anything to be done" or "people who want gun control just want to ban all guns". There are workable solutions to this problem.
