the movie gets close to release, and the screen counts are distributed.  Sometimes this has to do with a studio deciding whether to release a movie as "limited" to qualify for Oscar nominations, etc., and then release it wide after that time has passed.

Typically screen counts come out a week, maybe two at the most, prior to the movie being released.  Just an FYI....
