"Buy Max" should mean buy max
I've had a couple of trades fail recently because there was "Not enough money in account for the trade". But if I've clicked "Buy Max" it shouldn't matter how much $H I have as long as I have enough for one share. I understand why this happens, share prices move before the trade can be completed, but as far as the "Buy Max" function goes, it's a bug. If you had that on eTrade, you wouldn't expect the system to come back and say sorry, couldn't do it. It would just subtract one share and try again.

for what it's worth, Buy Max there means "buy max allowed for the stock", not max that trader can afford... Mar 03, 10:41
Usually IME when that happens its because you have multiple buys lined up and earlier buys use up all your cash. {nm} Mar 03, 12:59
