Some players would never even know they occured if they weren't posted in Announcements.

Posted by: DTravel on Dec 01, 11:12 in response to Hermit's post Ok fair enough, but then i pose this to you

For example, I have ~1,000 movie stocks and ~900 star bonds in my portfolio.  I don't look at my Transaction History every day.  I likely would never notice 10 to 20 movie stocks disappearing from my port.

Here are a couple of tips.  Almost all movie stocks that are in Concept will delist at $0 eventually.  This is well known.  So every once in a while I will search for all movie stocks in Concept and short them.  They are almost all bad investments because they are usually already below $1 and I have no idea when they might pay off.  But I've reached the point where I have more HSX money than I can spend so even a small return is better than practically no return.

The criteria for when a Star Bond is elegible to be delisted are also known, no future releases that they are attached to and it has been three years since their last release that reported box office.  Again not a good investment because players with money sitting around know the criteria and have already moved the price towards its TAG for if and when it does delist.

Keep these in mind and they may help reduce your future disappointments.

Why are stocks randomly delisting today? Hermit Nov 30, 11:04

And forgive me for saying so Hermit Nov 30, 11:52

Solution: Short the securities that are to be delisted. (Some judgment involved.) {nm} DTXbro Dec 05, 15:05

Then why does the Announcements forum still say this Hermit Nov 30, 12:08

And they are posted there. AFTER thay occur. The description doesn't say it will announce them ahead of time. DTravel Dec 01, 10:57

Thank you all for the help Hermit Dec 01, 19:05

It depends on your risk tolerance and how closely you follow stock movements. Delists usually happen approx every 3 months toward the end of jdolphin Dec 01, 20:52

For Star Bonds it could be 3 years after their last movie was attached - could count even if the movie didn't report box office {nm} jdolphin Dec 01, 20:44
