Just realized I'm paying 2 to 3 times the price for penny stocks...can't find anywhere that says how commissions are calculated

This is not a case of the price changing between when I submitted a trade and it actually executes.  I recently tried to buy a number of penny stocks with the intent of just letting them ride and I bought small increments to avoid causing the price to adjust.  For instance, I bought 15,000 shares at 0.01 (several times, several different MovieStocks).  My portfolio says I paid 0.01 per share and it has a value of 150.  My trade history says I got the stock at 0.01 but it cost 450.


So Is this to be expected?  How does HSX figure commissions?
