In Hollywood, the summer season starts in the month of May. Bask in the box office success of the biggest summer movies of 2010 by investing in their Blockbuster Warrants. Make the call on which movie you think will make its strike price by Labor Day and profit from your prediction.
Blockbuster Warrants are Hollywood Derivatives which allow traders the opportunity to invest in the long-term financial success of the biggest studio movies for the 2010 summer season. Blockbuster Warrants are similar to Call Options. The strike price is the estimated total domestic box-office take through Labor Day Weekend 2010.
If this particular film makes the strike price by September 6, 2010, the warrant will cash out at the difference between the actual box office and the strike price. If the film does not hit the strike price, then the warrant will cash out at zero.
Example: The Iron Man 2 Blockbuster Warrant has a H$370 strike price. If Iron Man 2 makes $390 million domestically, then the Iron Man 2 Blockbuster Warrant will cash out at H$20 per share. (Box Office - Strike Price [$390-$370]). If Iron Man 2 makes less than $370 million, then the warrant will cash out at H$0. The Blockbuster Warrants will cash out on September 7, 2010.
