When the original Dawn of the Dead by George Romero was released in 1978, it made a statement on racism and culture using black humor. The film was the second installment in the Living Dead trilogy, which also included Night of the Living Dead and Day of the Dead. Beacon Communications has tapped screenwriter James Gunn (Scooby-Doo) to update the cult classic.
