The 2000, U.S. release of 1994's Drunken Master II will be known as Legend of Drunken Master and stars a pre-Rush Hour Jackie Chan. The story is about a young, Chinese hero who is thrown out of his family's house and decides to study Drunken Boxing. After learning Drunken Boxing, he goes out to fight against the deadly assassins in his neighborhood in an attempt to regain the respect of his family.
Drunk Master II is a sequel as well as the culmination of a long string of comedy/martial arts films began with 1979's Drunken Master that established Chan's showbiz career.
