Scott Kalvert, who directed The Basketball Diaries, will helm this film produced by Martin Scorsese's Cappa Films. Deuces Wild is the saga of two cousins in the tough mob-controlled streets of 1950s Brooklyn who end up taking two different paths in life. Paul Kimation and Chris Gambale wrote the screenplay for Deuces Wild which has actress Fairuza Balk attached to star.
Deuce's Wild centers on a group of gangs in 1959 with a story line in the vein of "West Side Story," without the music. Balk would play the leader of an all-girl gang who falls in love with a member of a male gang. The film will mark Kalvert's first feature since his directorial debut with Basketball Diaries. The ensemble cast includes Brad Renfro, Stephen Dorff, Fairuza Balk, Johnny Knoxville, Norman Reedus and Balthazar Getty.
