Maria Full of Grace is about a rebellious Colombian girl named Maria Alvarez who wants to escape her mundane life working at a rose plantation north of Bogota. She is enthused when a young man promises her a fulfilling job, only to find that she'll be working as a mule, someone who swallows pellets of heroin for transport into the US. Written and directed by Joshua Marston, Maria Full of Grace won the Dramatic Audience Award at the 2004 Sundance Festival.
