Castle Rock Pictures, Warner Bros., and Universal Pictures have come together to create the romance drama The Majestic. Frank Darabont (The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption) directs Jim Carrey in a story set during the McCarthy era. Carrey plays a man who was blacklisted from Hollywood in the 1950s. On his way out of town, Carrey's character ends up in a major car accident which leaves him with amnesia. While suffering from an identity crisis, he begins to settle in a small town where the people think he is the long lost son of the movie theater owner.

The Majestic was previously known as The Bijou.
