Description

Pinero is a biographical drama about the Latino poet and playwright Miguel Pinero. The artist's work is often considered a percursor to rap and hip-hop. Law & Order star Benjamin Bratt will grace the scene in the lead role with a supporting cast including Mandy Patinkin, Rita Moreno, Talisa Soto, and Giancarlo Esposito. Director Leon Ichaso will be helming the project for GreeneStreet Productions and Lower East Side Films.

Pinero's life has been the subject of some previous production. The stage saw a Tony Award-winning play titled Short Eyes which covered Pinero's life in prison.
