Murray plays the well-to-do father of two boys who attend Rushmore Academy, an exclusive private school. He becomes a mentor to another Rushmore student named Max. Mentor and mentee both fall in love with Miss Cross, a teacher at the school.
On September 11, 1998, Miss Information wrote, Wes Anderson's zany comedy starring Bill Murray (BMURR). Touchstone Pictures is releasing the movie before the end of the year and it's a good thing, because almost everyone I talked to absolutely loved the flick. I read the script early last year and thought it was hilarious. I'm told that the actual movie is twice as funny as the script. It will be great to see Bill Murray in a decent comedy again, (as opposed to one in which he acts opposite an elephant - literally). The buzz on this one has been similar to another little film from earlier this year, namely "There's Something About Mary."
Variety reports that the movie's budget is $9 million.
