Just for the sake of argument lets say you are correct: why is it ok to manipulate prices one day a week but not the other six?

Posted by: HuskyMiller on Nov 13, 10:35 in response to Antibody's post Because posting a call of action is generally not...

My desire to hold on to my fake gains is just as strong on Friday as it is Saturday through Thursday. The loses due to what YOU believe to be poster manipulation are just as real on Friday as they are the other days of the week. So why is there a free pass to "manipulate" on Fridays?

Gut Checks? {nm} HollywoodTycoon61 Nov 12, 21:53

Short both - (v.marginal on 2012 - expecting a circa 55m opening w/e. Pirate short. {nm} Somerset Nov 12, 22:32

I thought gut checks is allowed after 00:00 which is another hour more? {nm} karspov Nov 12, 22:56

Pretty sure it is Midnight Eastern, not pacific for gutchecks. {nm} grengrad Nov 12, 23:03

I think that was when the boards ran on eastern time. It's already 2:00am back east. {nm} MojaveMeg Nov 12, 23:03

Still the sensible thing to do is follow the internal clock that ends all these mesaages. mine says 23 hrs and some minutes now {nm} JMT Nov 12, 23:06

I am not sure that is the most sensible thing, when you consider most of the country is asleep by Midnight Pacific. :) grengrad Nov 12, 23:08

Agreed.. all these different time lapses is making it a bit confusing.. karspov Nov 12, 23:11

sorry, caused some problems there...its 3:30pm Friday where I am, its almost the weekend and easy to forget you guys are so far behind..... {nm} Somerset Nov 12, 23:29

hey buddy.. where are you from? I am 3.30pm here too ;-) {nm} karspov Nov 12, 23:33

From UK but working in Singapore at the moment and the rest of the region as required...you? {nm} Somerset Nov 12, 23:36

No wonder.. Somerset sounds real familiar.. haha.. ;-) {nm} karspov Nov 12, 23:45

The sensible thing is to say gutchecks are allowed from 9:00 pm on the HSX clock {nm} RogerMore Nov 13, 03:12

What's with this "allowed" crap? Folks are free to post what they want when they want. If u don't wanna respond to an "early" GC, then don't {nm} HuskyMiller Nov 13, 05:40

its the way its been done. posts any earlier tend to be manipulation. Oh and post "anything we want?" Spam, viruses, racial slurs? that ok? {nm} islander Nov 13, 06:18

I never used the word "anything." You did. My comment is in a thread about gut checks and you know just as well as I do THAT is what I meant HuskyMiller Nov 13, 06:50

That's not the case. There are several things you're not allowed to post - recent trades you've made (eg I just longed MOVIE!!!) or RogerMore Nov 13, 06:19

Are you freakin' kidding me? I see the exact type of posts you mentioned here all the time –– no analysis included. HuskyMiller Nov 13, 07:34

I've just done a quick scan of the last three boards, and don't see anything like you're suggesting. Do you have an example you can link to RogerMore Nov 13, 07:58

How about the post you made above on this very page suggesting a good rule of thumb is to short any wide release under $20? HuskyMiller Nov 13, 09:13

That's a general observation, and not related to a specific stock. If you need better guidance than I can provide, have a look at the code RogerMore Nov 13, 09:46

That's not a sepcific call to action. {nm} Antibody Nov 13, 09:59

It absolutely is! He said "ANY" wide release under $20. HuskyMiller Nov 13, 10:22

Have a look at the Code of Conduct (linked inside). I don't see why you're getting upset when I'm trying to be helpful RogerMore Nov 13, 11:46

Because posting a call of action is generally not allowed. Otherwise, people would just post them every day to drive stock prices. {nm} Antibody Nov 13, 10:04

Just for the sake of argument lets say you are correct: why is it ok to manipulate prices one day a week but not the other six? HuskyMiller Nov 13, 10:35

It {nm} Antibody Nov 13, 10:42

It's mere HOURS before the stock is halted, when there are opinions for both side. It's hard to manipulate heavy trading going both ways. {nm} Antibody Nov 13, 10:45

Days, hours, or minutes it does not matter. The loses are real so I'll ask again, why is there a free period to screw with my fake money? HuskyMiller Nov 13, 11:40

short both {nm} adrenalin112 Nov 13, 00:02

long on 2012 and short on pirate. {nm} Mattrek Nov 13, 00:23

Short 2012 {nm} mrbeankc Nov 13, 00:28

I'm shorting both. 2012 is iffy, but it's a post adjust short anyway. *shrug* {nm} OdysseusG Nov 13, 00:39

short both. but at the end of the day I might flip 2012. {nm} JMT Nov 13, 00:51

Long on 2012 and short Pirates. Mattrek...let's hope we are psychic like with MJ. ;-) {nm} Catzan Nov 13, 01:15

Cusack has never carried a big-budget actioner and Pirate Radio is bordering on being an indie. Short both :) {nm} john Nov 13, 01:25

There's a first time for everything, though - perhaps his time has come, at the end of the days of earth? ;-) {nm} Facto Nov 13, 05:50

Con Air! {nm} RogerMore Nov 13, 06:19

Short both. {nm} joeoftexas Nov 13, 02:47

Ya know, joeoftexas, I'm taking it in the shorts so bad at EAP I might as well go out on a limb and really play my gut. We've had such a bad DestroyingAngel Nov 13, 07:29

I am long on 2012, short on PRADO (and so is CAINE) {nm} RogerMore Nov 13, 03:13

Shorting both. If 2012S dips too much, I might flip or probably just take my gains and cover it. {nm} eyescovered Nov 13, 04:36

Short both. {nm} photochick814 Nov 13, 04:59

I'm not usually superstitious, but today is Friday the 13th---Good or bad omen? {nm} HollywoodTycoon61 Nov 13, 05:18

Long 2012S {nm} thatpj Nov 13, 05:41

probably short both. {nm} islander Nov 13, 06:24

long 2012S. not enough funds to play other. In hindsight i should've played the trend and shorted 2012, and went long an hour from now. QQ {nm} kensanity Nov 13, 06:27

Still stinging from JACKO long... - Shorting PRADO and 2012S [nm] erehwon Nov 13, 07:45

Two wrongs don't make a right - but best of luck to ya ;-) I shorted JACKO and made a healthy profit, hope to make the same this WE {nm} Facto Nov 13, 09:22
