I don't think we should tag RS and MTC anymore when it's become just another prediction during the week of release.

Posted by: Antibody on Aug 06, 12:03

Tagging RS and MTC were permitted because they were the only tracking available for many years and got "grandfathered in" sort to speak.  Now that RS and MTC get posted a day before a movie's release, then they are no different from the final predictions based on trackings by LAT, V and THR.

Agreed. {nm} doitdoitdoitnow Aug 06, 12:12

same goes for future RS and MTC if we were to ever got them? {nm} Oleg Max Aug 06, 12:12

Future tracking a week or more out is okay. {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 12:18

cool, thx. {nm} Oleg Max Aug 06, 12:19

Why not? They are nearly impossible to find from previous weeks if they are not tagged. {nm} not2fast Aug 06, 12:40

They're really no more accurate than anyone else. {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 12:42

True, but you are going to have dozens more posting "has tracking been posted?" if there is no way to find them. {nm} not2fast Aug 06, 12:43

The point is they shouldn't be relied on any more than anyone else. {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 12:44

Unless one is a creature of habit. :) {nm} grammar Aug 06, 13:00

You can use web searches to find what you want in HSX forums... {nm} slappydavid Aug 06, 12:46

Yeah, like a search for RS or MTC? Good luck with that. Do you have some special trick? {nm} not2fast Aug 06, 12:50

at google type site:hsx.com mtc (or stock symbol) and use search tools to limit results to last 24 hours (or week, etc) islander Aug 06, 13:10

Regardless of their accuracy, aren't MTC and RS information on survey results, rather than predictions, even if they are then used as... second gary Aug 06, 12:51

It's really not different from LAT, V and THR basing their numbers on pre-release audience surveys trackings. {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 13:00

If this is an issue, I can put RS and MTC #s on-line in a spreadsheet - similar to what I do with midnight #s. RogerMore Aug 06, 12:50

That would be nice. It would be even better if HSX would post them all as a weekly announcement. That way everyone gets the same info. {nm} not2fast Aug 06, 12:52

Why would HSX do that and "validate" opinions as news? {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 13:08

Opinions of industry jounalists and critics have always been news. These are predictions, which is what this game is all about. {nm} not2fast Aug 06, 13:15

We have very different definition of opinion and news. {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 13:22

I'll post a link to a draft SS for comment on the Players Board today or tomorrow. {nm} RogerMore Aug 06, 13:26

Thanks. {nm} second gary Aug 06, 15:05

and you should stop tagging on non US PR materials: trailers, stills, posters, clips. It has no affect on the US release {nm} Moviesnob Aug 06, 13:40

Any trailer that offers the very first look at a movie is fine. {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 14:35

but people post any trailer posted on the web, and I can tell you as a distributor that foreign sales trailers are not representative of the Moviesnob Aug 06, 14:38

same goes for pics, clips & posters for markets and film fests. They aren't designed for the movie goer. {nm} Moviesnob Aug 06, 14:39

It gives us the first look at what the movie looks like, and the likely distibutor and/or release pattern. it also creates the first buzz. {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 14:57

none of things are true imo. You should come with me to AFM this year. But its your board, so I will follow your lead. {nm} Moviesnob Aug 06, 16:32

Look at Snowpiecer and Diana. We have international trailers long before the domestic distributor have even set a release date. {nm} Antibody Aug 06, 16:50

To some of us, whether they're "sales" previews or not, these trailers serve as evidence that the movie has been produced, even if distrib-- eallensbp Aug 06, 16:58

I also wanna add, so many of these films come close to production only to be shut down, ala CARTEL by Asgar Leth, when guys cut and run or, eallensbp Aug 06, 17:06

We just have a difference of opinion. Neither accurately depicts the way us audiences will see the movie. Especially snowpiercer {nm} Moviesnob Aug 06, 17:06
