And derivatives just don't have the sort of play that stocks do. There were multiple levels of play on stocks when there was halt/adjust

You can play in the weeks leading up to the movie's release based on whether you think it's under or overpriced, then you can make a Friday decision whether to hold it long or short (basically 50% chance of making money) and then after it adjusts on Sunday, you can decide whether the 2.7 mult is high or low depending on genre, historic information, etc.... again, based on personal and shared research.  When the halt moved to Saturday, the only play was... "Oh, yeah that stock is way under or overpriced based on #s coming in so I'll reverse and then I'll just sit on it to Sunday before making another move." The adjusts ended up being smaller on Sunday because the stocks were active for 36 or so hours more than before.

Fact is that HSX screwed up by pushing the adjusts back so much that it was no longer a challenge and was just about daytrading... and that's probably why the data is no longer accurate because so much more trading is being done based on whether a stock goes up/down at reset rather than it being over/underpriced to traders.

Yes, but for how long? They are complaining because the obviously DO care about the game, and are voicing their opinion of why it's not as BSmurf Mar 07, 07:52

Spot on BSmurf. You have summed up the situation so accurately. I agree totally. {nm} EarthMotherYTD2015 Mar 07, 08:04

I think it was work before, but it was work that players wanted to do. Research movies, make predictions etc. RogerMore Mar 07, 08:54

I agree about "easy money" - which was mostly the result of the Saturday halts. Go back to Friday, and it's not so certain. {nm} BSmurf Mar 07, 08:59

The other easy money I'm talking about is the post-adjust short. {nm} RogerMore Mar 07, 09:37

Also, once you've reached the cash level (billionaire +) that we have, it's hard to remember what it was like not having any money BSmurf Mar 07, 09:04

I think they want it to be the kind of game that provides data that they can sell. Adjusts were preventing that Moviesnob Mar 07, 09:22

Then they should get rid of stocks altogether and IPO OW derivatives as soon as a project is announced. diamondman56 Mar 07, 09:51
