Entertainment Studios doesn't want to compete against itself in Best Actor - Jason Clarke/Chappaquiddick vs Christian Bale/Hostiles. If Hostiles moves to 2018, then Christian Bale would likely be going up against himself in Cheny. Plus Jason Clarke already has Mudbound this year.
