I don't believe for a second that Ridley would expect a $250 million budget and that Fox would allow it... but I can't imagine for a second that anyone would expect a PG-13 prequel, not based on what Ridley did in the original movie. In fact, this article is talking about arguments over an 18 rating, which is for England, whereas in the United States, where 20th Century Fox is based, it would be whether or not its R or PG-13, which would potentially have a much big effect. The fact that whomever wrote this thought there might be that big a dispute about a rating in England, a much smaller market than the United States, gives you some idea how misguided this article is. Sure, I can see him and the studio being at odds about the money to spend... the lack of success of Predators over the summer makes one realize it would be crazy to spend that kind of money on nostalgia... especailly considering Ridley's erratic box office showing... Fox funded Kingdom of Heaven and A Good Year after all... but I think saying that the movie has stalled (which isn't said in the article) is reading WAY too much into conjecture.
