Securing the second best December opening of all times, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story [SW16] stole an estimated $155.0 million to lead the weekend box office. The spinoff prequel to A New Hope attracted an audience that was 66% males and 61% over the age of 25.
Moana [MOANA] came in second with $11.7 million to bring its total to $161.6 million after 4 weeks.
Office Christmas Party [OFCPT] lost 50% in its second weekend to $8.5 million. The raunchy comedy has earned $31.5 million.
Collateral Beauty [COLBT] debuted in fourth place with just $7.0 million. The drama skewed 60% females and74% over the age of 25.
Expanding to wide release, Manchester by the Sea [MBTSE] banked $4.2 million for sixth overall.
La La Land [LALAL] nabbed $4.0 million from just 200 theaters to finish at the seventh spot.
