Declining just 47% from its record-breaking opening weekend, Alice in Wonderland [ALCNW] dominated the box office once again with an estimated $62 million weekend. No longer just a novelty, 3D live-action films and their higher ticket prices have been embraced in full by audiences. Disney has already amassed $208.6 million after 10 days.
Universal's Green Zone [GREZN] will be awashed in red as the $140 million thriller debuted second with just $14.5 million. Not even marketing the Iraq-set film starring Matt Damon [MDAMO] as a Bourne-esque thriller was able to overcome the fact that moviegoers remained uninterested in films about conflicts in the Middle East.
She's Out of My League [SHOML] lucked into the third slot with $9.6 million. The R-rated romantic comedy drew a pretty even crowd that was 52% female and 50% under the age of 25.
Twillight fans proved they're faithful to Edward Cullen rather than Robert Pattinson [RPATT] as Summit's romance Remember Me [REMBR] opened with a forgettable $8.3 million.
Our Family Wedding [FAMWD] debuted sixth with $7.6 million on 1605 screens. As expected, the romantic comedy attracted mainly African-American and Hispanic moviegoers.
