After testing seemingly every young actor in Hollywood, Marvel went back to a familiar face and cast Chris Evans [CEVAN] as Steve Rogers in The First Avenger: Captain America [CAPAM]. Evans previously starred as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in two Fantastic Four films, but the franchise is being rebooted with a new cast by Fox. In The First Avenger: Captain America, Evans will play a U.S. soldier during World War II who becomes a superhero after being injected with the Super Soldier Serum. Evans will then return to the role in The Avengers [AVNGR] which will assemble, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and The Hulk together in one film. Director Joe Johnston [JOJOH] had originally set his heart on casting a relative unkown for the role of Captain America, but he and Paramount must had a change of heart after realizing an unknown would not have the charisma nor credibility to stand down a Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr. [RDOWN] in The Avengers.
