Despite falling short of expectations, Despicable Me 3 [DESM3] easily led the weekend box office with an estimated $75.4 million. Families made up 69% of the audience.
Baby Driver [BDRIV] outperformed in second place with $21.0 million and $30.0 million since Wednesday. The actioner attracted an audience that was 55% male and 61% over the age of 25.
Last weekend's champ, Transformers: The Last Knight [TFRM5] dropped 62% to $17.0 million and third overall. The total sits at $102.1 million.
Cars [CARS3] finished fifth with $9.5 million, to bring its total to $120.7 million.
The House [THOUS] opened at the sixth spot with $9.0 million. The comedy drew 51% female with 76% over the age of 25.
Expanding wide in its second weekend, The Beguiled [BGUIL] took in $3.3 million for eighth place.
The Big Sick [TBSIC] charted at the twelfth spot with $1.7 million from just 71 theaters.
Beatriz at Dinner [BETRZ] finished outside the top12 with $1.1 million in its expansion to 683 theaters.
