Despite opening atop the weekend box office with an estimated $29.0 million, Terminator: Dark Fate [TERM6] failed to meet the expectations of a $185 million productionbudget. The sequel reboot skewed 56% male and 72% over 25 years old.
In its fifth weekend, Joker [JOKER.BW] remained in second place with $13.9 million, pushing its total to $299.6 million.
After a two-week reign, Maleficient: Mistress of Evil [MALF2] finished third at $12.2 million, and $84.3 million after three weekends.
Harriet [HARET] debuted at the fourth spot with $12.0 million. The audience was half African-American, 62% female and 59% over 35.
The Addams Family [ADDAM] rounded out the top five with $8.5 million to total $85.3 million.
Countdown [CTDWN] declined just 34% in its second weekend to $5.9 million and seventh overall. The horror film has grossed $17.8 million.
Black and Blue [BLABL] was eighth with $4.1 million, dropping 52% from its debut. The thriller has earned $15.4 million.
Motherless Brookyln [MOBRK] tallied $3.7 million to open in ninth place. The drama appealed to an audience that was 57% female and 55% over 35.
Arctic Dogs [AJTS] fared even worse with a $3.1 million opening.
Expanding to 461 theaters, Parasite [PARST] consumed $2.6 million to chart at eleventh.
