Four new films failed to connect with moviegoers as the Southern drama The Help [THELP] rose to number one in its sophomore weekend. The Help earned an estimated $20.5 million, declining just 21% from its debut weekend. The film has already taken in $71.8 million after 10 days.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes [RSAPE] dropped down a spot to second with $16.3 million. The sci-fi reboot has amassed $133.8 million after three weekends.
Spy Kids: All the Time in the World [SPYK4] fared best amongst the four new openers. The family film scored a franchise low $12.0 million.
The '80s remake Conan the Barbarian [CONAN] debuted in fourth place with just $10.0 million. The film skewed males at 76% males with 67% over the age of 25.
The other '80s remake Fright Night [FRNIT] did even worse at $8.3 million. Its audience was 60% males and 67% over the age of 25.
The romance One Day [1DAY] grossed $5.1 million to chart at number nine.
