Marvel has unleashed the teaser trailer for the superhero sequel Thor: Love and Thunder [THOR4]. Chris Hemsworth [CHEMS] reprises his role as the former God of Thunder with the Guardians of the Galaxy along for the ride. Natalie Portman [NPORT] returns to the franchise as Jane Foster who will take over the mighty mantle of the Mjölnir. Directed by Taika Waitiki [TAWAI], Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8th.
Topping the weekend box office but showing signs of franchise fatigue, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore [FBST3] summoned an estimated $43.0 million. The debut is down 31% from the $62.1 million of the previous installment The Crimes of Grindelwald. An audience of 56% females and 70% over the age of 25 gave the film a B+ CinemaScore.
Last weekend’s high scorer Sonic the Hedgehog 2 [SONC2] tumbled down 58% in round two to $30.0 million. The sequel has banked $119.6 million.

Focus Features has revealed a second trailer for the action adventure The Northman [NRTHM] from filmmaker Robert Eggers [REGGE]. Based on the Scandinavian legend that inspired William Shakespeare's "Hamlet", the Viking epic stars Alexander Skarsgård [ASKAR] as a prince on a quest to avenge the murder of his father. The Northman hits theaters on April 22nd.
Paramount has unleashed the official trailer for the animated Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank [BLAZS], which was previously titled Blazing Samurai due to its inspiration from Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles. Michael Cera [MCERA] voices a dog training to be a samurai in order to save a town of cats. Samuel L. Jackson [SLJAC] who introduced the trailer voices his feline mentor. Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank pounces into theatres on July 15th.

Proving there’s a market for family films, the sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 2 [SONC2] led the weekend box office with an estimated $71.0 million. The debut would be more than what the first Sonic the Hedgehog did in its four-day opening of $70.0 million. Audiences gave the film an A CinemaScore.
Last weekend’s top film Morbius [MORBI] tumbled 74% to $10.2 million and $57.08 million after 10 days.
