For example, on Cantor Exchange there is an auction process for setting the initial offer price. On HSX, the price is set by the Exchange (ICO on CX versus IPO on HSX). Cantor Exchange does not have a Virtual Specialist like HSX. Cantor Exchange uses a bid/ask system where buyers are matched to willing sellers that meet the buyer's price.
If you have no position on a film contract and you'd like a short position, you place a sell order on Cantor Exchange. And similar to a buy order, a seller needs a willing buyer to meet the seller's price in order for the trade to execute.
The film contracts on Cantor Exchange do not halt or adjust as MovieStocks do on HSX. There are special derivatives on HSX called "CX Derivatives" that emulate how Cantor Exchange film contracts trade. Try trading those.
Cantor Exchange has daily price limits of 10%. When a contract's price increases or decreases by 10%, the contract has reached its price limit for the day, and no trades will execute until after the daily close.
We have a feedback forum dedicated to Cantor Exchange located at www.cantorexchangefeedback.hsx.com.
