if it is not a stock that is actually going to delist soon then holding onto a runaway short or a long term short in the theory that what goes up must comes down will stick you with a Blind Side type scenario
also, what goes up should come down but what goes down does not necessarily bounce back up
as well - if you wake up and find a stock has already gone up e.g. 5 points for the day it's usually too late to do anything but wait
