First of all, I do NOT cater to tin-foil-hat wearing conspiracy theories, so...
With that been said, I've felt for long enough that the top billionaires on HSX are causing massive swings in prices on a daily basis, thereby affecting the overall value of everyone else's portfolio.
Very often it is with new IPOs--it is no rarity for a new MovieStock to move up in price (accordingly, because people are buying it), but then, within just 1 day, has lost far more value than it was ever up so far.
How is it then my rank can literally move 100 places in just 1 or 2 days without me doing anything? I have a very diversified portfolio, as I have been a member since 2007 and I'm on HSX daily. So, explain how a vast majority of securities are losing significant value within just 1 or 2 days...
Take Oleg Max for example: He's the richest member of HSX (and recently gained that coveted spot). Years ago, he was "punished" for having multiple accounts to manipulate the system--against YOU for HIMSELF. All HSX did was fine him H$5 billion but he should have either lost ninety percent and accept it or lose his membership altogether. I believe he's still got multiple accounts so as to get around the maximum number of shares allowed to trade per security type, in order to manipulate prices of course but also to start a trend.
And then there is grory...who held the #1 spot for years, but hasn't placed a trade since December 2015. Um, how exactly is that possible? Perhaps he stopped visited HSX, yes, but wouldn't many of those securities have expired? Really, none of them delisted or changed in value that much? Come on!
I'm posting this because my strategy has been working for over 10 years now--never before have I appeared on any Leaderboard and that's fine...I maintain well over 100 securities, well diversified, and my rank and percentile continues to tick up--that's right--only ever UP. But throughout my time here there are days when my entire portfolio plunges (again, indicating signficant losses on MANY securities), or the MovieStock that I just bought a thousand shares of yesterday plummets considerably without any news about it or the actors. Hmmm....Sorry, but I call blatant market manipulation from the very top.
