What if you could invest in someone's port like any other security on HSX?
This could be listed under "Funds" or Derivatives.
This would have its own ticker symbol, such as "NEILS".
Of course, in order for a port to be "listed" on the exchange, there should be some rules.
Therefore, in order to prove stability, here are some suggestions:
1) The port needs to at least 1 year old, and cannot be in some sort of "dormant" status (like grory).
2) The port needs to have at least H$2 million in Investments at all times.
3) The port needs to at least be in the 51 percentile (thereby surpassing an official majority of other ports).
4) The port needs to have made at least 1 trade in the last 30 days.
5) The port should have at least 2 securities from each category (e.g., MovieStocks, StarBonds, Derivatives, & StudioFunds).
6) All of the port's investments cannot be just longs or only in shorts.
7) The port can only trade in round-lots (even amounts of shares, at least in hundreds). No odd-lot trading.
If the port fails to adhere to any of these minimum requirements, then it can be delisted as a security for others to invest in.
I am sure there are other rules that can be added, such as avoiding market manipulation by posting everything about this port in some league or HSX fan site.
While these rules may seem to be too thin (allowing small ports to be listed), just think how YOU can capitalize on the success of new ports!
Just think--What if you could invest in a fund that directly followed the success your port has made since it was only 1 year old!
I am not sure about this next possibility--which is if people go long or short this "listed port",
then perhaps the money that they have invested in it is available as H$ Cash for the actual underlying port?
Because if so, then if you invest H$50,000 in "NEILS" as either short or long, and then "NeilSite_VanThomas" port is now H$50K richer in H$ Cash,
then I would have that available to trade which in turn could cause the Net Worth to rise or fall considerably (if you're short, then you gain if it falls).
Anyway, just an idea.
What do you think?
