Hi, me again, I forgot,
I'm also confused as to what you said and the help topics from HSX, they say:
The simple rule behind short selling is that if you think a particular security is overvalued and the price is going to go down, you should sell the security "short." On the Hollywood Stock Exchange, almost anything goes, including using the failures of others to make a profit. If the next big blockbuster film looks to be an overhyped, overrated mess, you can still make a profit by shorting.
Covering is the opposite of short selling. Realize your profit/loss by covering your shorted security. You must already have the item short prior to covering it."
So what I understand from what they say is that short is selling and covering is buying, whereas you said the contrary :)
What's the difference between selling and short selling ? (i read the help section :s) kruger Oct 25, 12:10
