When I hear children, I think of kids up to 12. The rest are teenagers.
That's my only complaint, though - a semantic one. For any man over 30, 16 is a tad bit on the young side, but Jerry Seinfeld, for instance, dated someone around that age, when he was in his late thirties (I seem to recall). And then there's Lolita and all that. (And yes, Polanski is a criminal and a molester, but I wouldn't call him a pedophile - those go for children.)
In most of Europe, I believe, it's legal to marry a 16 year old girl. In other parts of the world, they go for younger than that.. Just trying to put things into perspective a little bit (plus the usual writing before thinking-syndrome, that I seem to suffer from ;))
