I'm certainly not saying that it's a prerequisite to have seen the musical in order to write a review of the movie, but at least do some
research about it, especially if you didn't like the "musical" aspects of the movie. Before publishing your review, you could look up the musical and find out, oh, it's sung all the way through. So that's not a fault of the movie, it's a fault of the source. And then warn your readers, "hey, i didn't know that it was going to be all singing throughout, and that grated on my nerves; but that's just the way the musical which this is based on is, so be forewarned."
