emotion is not translated well within email, text or message boards. I sign clients up daily that most we never speak to by nothing

Posted by: lobogotti on May 07, 12:53 in response to RogerMore's post Speaking generally about the boards, I think tone is...

more than email, or ticket responses.

we've mastered the artform of clear, concise instruction without sounding sarcastic or condescending. more difficult than you think, because we have a lot of clients that just aren't computer savy.  patience is rquired.

that said, I try very hard to be accepting and welcoming to people on this message boards, because I've had my share of issues.

I think I've went through 4 stages on this board in 13 years.  I went from:

1. thinking I knew it all, when I didn't know jack, to...

2. posting every bit of news I could find as soon as it hit (sometimes becoming annoying in my efforts), to...

3. laid back but pursuer of a huge port (getting up by alarm at reset to trade), to...

4. thinking I know it all ;) ha, kidding (but sadly, at times I certainly come off that way).

really where I am today is a person that wants to help traders to keep this game going.  I like to welcome, encourage, accept people to be involved here.  I hate seeing people bicker and argue with each other.  I want to help traders understand the game and why movies perform the way they do.  I want as many people to be involved as possible.

this is a fun game.  everyone has something to offer, but only a small percentage post and I know it's because so many are intimidated or worried they will do something wrong.  To those folks, I would say start out chiming in with responses to posts, asking questions, absorbing knowledge and ease into it.

most here are good people and someone like Razor has done just about as much as any trader on here (probably more) to advance others.  It's funny, but now I have a vision of many traders here of what I think they are like/how they look and you (RogerMore) I see as this owl type of figure spouting snippets of wisdom.

trust me, if I know your handle, I have a vision for each of you.  and if you're a friend of mine on FB, my vision for you is your picture!

3BOEM has started filming since May 2 inviere May 07, 09:27

that's why the stock page says "phase: production" {nm} RazorHawk May 07, 09:31

Movie filming activity and shoot schedules have been posted by Antibody without unnecessary sarcasm in replies. {nm} pennystocks2 May 07, 09:56

Yeah, and this new player joined Razerhawks HSX "School" league. Probably won't post again. {nm} fricnfractal May 07, 09:59

Brevity + stating the obvious (to us) isn't always sarcasm. {nm} RogerMore May 07, 10:58

Not that it matters to anybody here, but... wkelc May 07, 11:11

I agree wholeheartedly. {nm} hyperzeitgeist May 07, 11:16

Me too. Plus the article that inviere linked to was very interesting. Thanks for posting it. {nm} pennystocks2 May 07, 11:32

Speaking generally about the boards, I think tone is often more up to the reader's interpretation than the writer. RogerMore May 07, 12:01

Wise words :) {nm} hyperzeitgeist May 07, 12:18
