it seems to me that what people want out of HSX and what HSX needs out of HSX are two different things

Posted by: Moviesnob on Dec 27, 12:50 in response to lobogotti's post hate to pile on, but it's felt like the website has been...

so the key is to bridge the gap. How do you bring back adjust but in a way thats useful for forecasting box office? The multiple was no longer working, so it went away. So what do you replace it with that gives players and HSX what they want?

I think thats a useful conversation to have. Instead of focusing on problems, lets focus on a solution.

Frame 1:53 is from Saturday, Janaury 20, 1968. And yes, Sundays will never be the Same. {nm} Roman Polanski Dec 26, 14:23

Doesn't exactly look more accurate, either.. {nm} GAMERFund Dec 26, 18:48

I'm just not sure what to do with some movie stocks anymore... just feel like I'm riding things up and down. {nm} diamondman56 Dec 26, 19:43

Ditto {nm} HollywoodTycoon61 Dec 27, 11:17

It's made the game BORING {nm} ndmaster Dec 26, 20:31

Yep {nm} CSBD Dec 27, 04:10

Well, I had an open mind, and gave it a few weeks Sleprock Dec 27, 04:53

the anticipation was fun, as was the possibility of swings. {nm} CSBD Dec 27, 08:12

Agreed {nm} Silent_Ben Dec 27, 21:26

Maybe we can get it changed back, if enough people agree {nm} HSXiphos Dec 27, 05:03

+1 - But I got told we'd never get enough posters to post to show that majority... {nm} TwoMisfits Dec 27, 06:01

All it's going to take is one person to agree, and I don't get the impression any arguement is going to change his mind {nm} ßionicℳoron™ Dec 27, 06:12

Boooooriiiiiiiiiiiiing............. {nm} gogreen Dec 27, 05:35

Adjusts have been pointless since they moved the halt time till Saturday nights. They should go back to halting on Friday afternoons. {nm} diamondman56 Dec 27, 05:51

This game is now boring. Friday adjust were great. Both changes (to saturday halt and this one) sucks {nm} Filmstardust Dec 27, 06:42

The Weds/Friday halts were fun, BUT back in the days when there were few if any box office $ predictions. Sat. halts never made sense to me. {nm} pennystocks2 Dec 27, 09:56

Plus, it seems that Movies at the theaters are dying a slow death, and that will take HSX down too. Sure not the same as the early 2000's. {nm} pennystocks2 Dec 27, 10:05

maybe it kinda seems that way, but 2016 is actually going to be the biggest $ year ever {nm} islander Dec 27, 10:12

Hopefully we'll be around to see what happens to theaters in the next 10 years or so... {nm} pennystocks2 Dec 27, 15:45

I just hope/wish "they" notice the suckness and bring the Halt back to Friday or earlier, which would be even better {nm} Filmstardust Dec 27, 17:45

Walking away from HSX BJB Dec 27, 06:24

hate to pile on, but it's felt like the website has been dying a slow death for awhile now... lobogotti Dec 27, 07:29

agreed on most of your IM {nm} JMT-NL Dec 27, 07:59

A very well-written post, Lobo. I agree with everything you said and hope management will take your suggestions under advisement. RollingThunder Dec 27, 08:01

I too have wondered why BOT can succeed for people who love film in great dialogue, but hasn't translated lobogotti Dec 27, 08:11

There was a social function to the halt and the adjust similar to the work lobo's contests (and contest idea) have done. second gary Dec 27, 08:28

very well put gary! {nm} lobogotti Dec 27, 08:34

The single most exciting thing about box office is opening weekend. It's an unknown. shadowking Dec 27, 08:36

also well said shadow. {nm} lobogotti Dec 27, 08:54

I agree with your IM. {nm} joeoftexas Dec 27, 09:13

The most direct comment I can make is that I don't even come to the site every day any more and it doesn't bother me. initech Dec 27, 10:00

I'm assuming that many traders would like to start that discussion. {nm} lobogotti Dec 27, 13:03

then they should start that. Lots of smart people here so I am hopeful they can come up with ways that give HSX what it needs & keeps Moviesnob Dec 27, 13:37

I understand that there is a fine line drawn here by Cantor Fitzgerald. Antibody is the messenger. mrbinns Dec 27, 09:15

Agreed on al of it. I see muself drifting away from the game more and nore {nm} vadym Dec 27, 09:44

Agreed {nm} Silent_Ben Dec 27, 11:01

Yep, boring now. They should deregulate the whole thing... get rid of the stock limits, etc. just go for it! THXER Dec 27, 13:15

I don't trade often anymore, but I'm pretty much done. GJOSHGREEN Dec 27, 13:27

Lobo said it perfectly. I agree 100 percent. The daily enjoyment has faded for me. {nm} copadon Dec 27, 19:05
