here's the chain of conversation:
"You are buying contracts from other traders. Lets say you brought Alice from me at $200 and it delists at $300, then I must pay you the $100 difference. "
and you ask:
"If i bought a stock at $100, then it went up to $200 and i sold it thinking I was up a $100, but then the film had legs and went to $300, I wouldnt have made anything?"
and the response was:
"If you bought at $100 and sold at $200, then you made $100 profit (minus commissions). The price after that has no effect on you. If it went to $300, then that just means you sold too early and missed out on an additional $100 profit."
Then the question is still there! Where did that extra $100 of profit come from!?!?!?!?!?
