not saying i would endorse this idea, but only marginally serious theory IM ...
what if someone wrote a movie where we find out where the Force came from, who the first Jedi were ("Jedi" being plural here for my usage), and that some powerful "1st sith" "created" the midichlorians in an attempt to create more Sith and it ended up creating more Jedi (again, broadly speaking for Jedi and Sith here) .. which these midichlorians begin to spread naturally throughout biology / biological processes, and that, for whatever reason, those who become Force-sensitive / aware and later train and become Jedi knights / Masters and the Sith just happen to have exceedingly more midi's than "the average Joe" ....
again ... just a thought. one i don't necessarily ascribe to. but it wouldn't surprise me any, either.
