Actually, many single guys will go see horror movies on Christmas Day
Movies like the Black Christmas remake (one of them) and the Aliens vs. Predator sequel opened on Christmas Day. Big difference with Nosferatu is that it's a well-reviewed movie from a popular filmmaker in Robert Eggers, one that has already screened and been reviewed, which wasn't the case with those other two, which were clearly being dumped. The thing is that there is anticipation to see Nosferatu so a lot of people who don't have family plans will just go see it on Christmas Day. It's not really the type of movie one might see with their families, so it will probably do less business over the weekend.
