Rand was extremely narcissistic and lacked empathy. She could be intensely charming (charm and charisma are common features of sociopathy) but was also prone to outbursts of rage and frustration. (From biographies on Rand)
She exploited young, vulnerable people and commonly sabotaged their self-images with criticism and callous public remarks. She was married and maintained that she loved her husband but had a number of affairs with younger men right in front of him--driving him to alcoholism.
She was also a hypochondriac and was commonly described as paranoid. She despised average people, regarding them as ugly, stupid and irrational...while viewing herself as the "greatest writer in history" and the greatest philosopher since Aristotle. She was only concerned with her own needs and wants always claiming that she was suffering and was unfairly attacked. She claimed that no one had ever helped her, when in fact she had benefited for years from the charity and goodwill of relatives, business associates and friends. Nevertheless, she alienated nearly all her friends and allies by the end of her life, and died alone. Concerning her writing, she created heroic fictional characters who are deeply repressed, incapable of normal human interaction, and typically angry or disgusted with the world. Still, her followers usually claim them as heros and symbols of rational benevolence.
I cant believe the underestimation of ATLAS. Once again, Hollywood (and apparently those whom follow it) miss the boat on morality films.

I think there is a good chance of 10m+. It's being pushed insanely hard by conservative talk radio.

Not on 300 screens, naturally. But I fully expect 1.3+ for the weekend and healthy weekday numbers.

Doesn't your nick say it all? It's the catchphrase from Atlas Shrugged: "Who is John Galt?".

They need to add an 11th Commandment: Thou shalt not manipulate Christian-tinged movie stocks.

Gotta love the irony. Her legacy is in bed with the conservative christian factions, via the Tea Party connection. Or something like that..

So far zero for 5 on Rotten Tomatoes, for a 0 % rating. Looks like it needs Rush Limbaugh or Armond White to write up a review lol.
